I agree with Scott Barry Kaufman on the importance of the default brain network. However, at times one needs to learn how to shut down the default network "on demand" and invoke the executive control network. I have written a white paper on this topic, in the context of trying to explain how Interactive Metronome appears to help people train their abilities to "quiet the buzzy mind", which is available at the following link. It also covers the three brain networks discussed by Scott in his article at the Huffington Post. Enjoy.
